Spartus did an amazing job with the Odyssey. I just played with it for the first time for 3 hours straight and this paddle is everything that the previous 13 reviewers have said. The hybrid design and look hit all the right notes. It has really great spin, it has all the pop + control you need at the kitchen along with a great feel during dink rallies. I was playing against 4.0+ competition who were using the newest Joola Pro IV, Vapor Power, and other higher price paddles, and the Spartus Odyssey dominated with great control and power (as long as you generate it). I am super happy with it and I really have to shout out the Spartus Support Team for their highest level of customer service. They really went above and beyond in their service. You are amazing! It is no surprise that I have already bought one for my friend as well and will look to recommend to everyone in my pickleball community. Great job, Spartus!

A performing budget paddle. If you need a paddle that performs above average and at the same time don't want to spend too much. This paddle is perfect for you. It does everything well for the price you pay.

Fantastic feel with just enough pop and power to finish points with ease.

Surprised by Control and Power

I’ve been playing this paddle for 6 months and must say it suits my game perfectly. It has great control and possesses sneaky power. I think I’m not hitting the ball that hard and then see my opponents scrambling to reach me shots. I added weights to side of the paddle that adds to the sweet spot.

Have bought 2 of these awesome paddles. Pound for pound the best paddle money can buy in this range. Control, spin and power are there in this all court paddle. It may not be $250 but you get 90% of these performance at a fraction of the price. Gonna get a 3rd since 2 people were insistent I sell to them as they didn’t want to wait in the mail. Spartus is an honest brand with affordable prices. From the gladius Olympus and now this odyssey they are on a journey towards hopefully their next piece, a killer from hades ;).

Great paddle! Felt like I had more pop than my Spartus Apollo paddle.

Best bang for your buck paddle ever. Very forgiving for a hybrid paddle, tons of spin, low swing weight for fast hands during kitchen battles. Love it!

A very good control paddle for the price. Really good spin; fantastic drops and resets.

Very forgiving during speedups - ball stays in.

Serve power is average but that's expected from the nature of this paddle.

Great pricing at $80 USD

It plays like the Apollo, but in a hybrid shape with slightly more pop and power. Balance point is lower than other hybrid paddles, which I prefer and the sweet spot feels big, almost like a standard/wide body paddle. It’s been a great paddle and is a no brainer for the price.

Best performance for 80$ paddle

For me, the paddle has the right balance of pop and power. Every now and then I hit off the sweet spot, but very rarely and, frankly, my bad! The paddle and I are becoming one. I've played it three times so far, and am developing a ninja spirit.

The Odyssey is an excellent value. Plenty of power, pop and spin. My only wish is that the handle was thinner.

It is one of the best paddle in the market and that's only for $80 which is steal, paddle plays like $150 paddle to be honest, it does everything well, good control, power and plush feel. The only thing is the grip which is not really well cushioned and grit might wear off.

This is not just a budget paddle. It is a very good paddle, period. Has enough forgiveness that it doesn't make you pop up the ball, tons of grit on the face to provide great spin for your shots, and the swing weight is low for a hybrid, it will allow you to have fast hands for kitchen battles. The power and pop are enough and that is amazing considering this is a gen 1 constructed paddle.

The paddle is perfect for beginner and intermediate players. Soft feel, easy to control. Lots of grit for those who like spin. All this for an unbeatable price.

The paddle feels smooth. The odyssey is a control-oriented paddle. I enjoyed the feel off the face of the paddle. The swing weight is low, which makes it feel very maneuverable. I added an over grip. I added 3g of lead to the bottom corners to maximize the control element. The paddle probably could use a little lead near the head to add to the power aspect. I really enjoyed it.

Great soft touch but still had the power when you needed. It might have the best handle of any paddle.

I have recently received the Apex Odyssey and absolutely love it! My previous favorite all time paddle was the Apollo, and my only gripe was its 15.9” length. Ive been hoping and asking for months if Spartus was going to release a hybrid version of the Apollo, which would have made an already incredible paddle that much better! Lo and behold, Spartus delivered in a huge way!! The Apex Odyssey is everything I had been hoping for in every way possible! It’s in my opinion the best paddle I’ve ever hit with, it’s got great pop, and power, but just enough plushness to really shape your shots. Thank-you Spartus for delivering my new all-time favorite paddle, and at an incredible price! And yes, if you wanted a hybrid version of the Apollo like me, this is your paddle, you definitely will not be disappointed!

Best performing paddle below $100. Light swing weight for fast hands at the kitchen, decent twist weight, making it a forgiving paddle, and amazing spin, good power and pop. This is a steal at $80!

This isn’t just a good value paddle, it’s great paddle at a ridiculously low price… it could be $30-40 more and it would still be worth it.

An all court paddle in all the best ways - Excellent touch and stability, amazing spin, and power when you need it.

Highest recommendation.
